Estimating, and Scheduling Department. Support the fossil
planned/unplanned outages for capital and O&M projects greater than
$20M. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining the current
“forced outage schedule” and developing the “annual outage schedule” using
written scope, preparing cost estimates and drawings to develop the resource
loaded outage schedules; reviewing the manpower and logic with the plant and
construction managers; assisting outage manager in daily reporting and status
for the plant manager; analyzing problems with the schedule and cost
projections and providing corrective action plans to the plant and
construction managers for review; directing other project control engineers
in the integration of these schedules into the site database for the upcoming
outages; providing support to the contract engineer for schedules used in
procurement of services and materials; and providing project control support
by supervising outage planners and schedulers during the annual outages. Senior Project Control Engineer 1990 -
1992 Westinghouse Savannah River Company
-Facilities and Laboratory Department. Developed the project baseline
plans, milestone schedules, work breakdown structures, spendout plans and
critical path method (CPM) logic networks to integrate and display the
project activities to establish effective utilization of resources and facilities,
including equipment, manpower and funding in compliance with DOE
Orders 4700.1/2250.1C (CSCSC). Developed and submitted progress
reports and represented the project/program manager in cost and schedule
discussions with DOE and SRS office/construction site to review schedule,
problems and cost. Assisted the project manager in the preparation of
organization budgets, manpower requirements, and workload distribution.
Evaluated multi‑project/program progress in order to prepare reports and
recommendations designed to assist management in determining overall progress
towards total Westinghouse Savannah River Company and DOE objectives. Senior Planner and Cost Estimator, Civil Engineering Department
1968 -
1990 - Tennessee Valley Authority
Solely responsible for the planning and
estimating of all work assigned to the Civil Engineering Department
(154 employees) by Brown's Ferry, Sequoyah and Watts Bar project
engineers. Established a way to track work and cost by implementing
Primavera Project Planner (P3) and Primavision Project Plotter software
programs. Functioned as liaison between the lead civil engineers and
lead project engineers for approval of work packages before they were
programmed. Performed all of the progress updating, date correction,
and actual man-hour usage. This report was submitted to the plant
project engineers on a bi‑weekly schedule. Functioned as the sole
source for training associated with the Primavera and Primavision software
program. Senior Planner and Cost Estimator - Tennessee Valley Authority
Knoxville Task Project. Responsible
for providing planning and scheduling support for the lead civil engineer and
work package engineers for design work requested by nuclear plant site lead
engineers. Evaluation of alternative methods in planning and scheduling
work associated with particular work packages, breaking down larger jobs,
such as major system designs, into planned work packages/work activities and
arranging into schedules by completing Engineering Work Authorization Tracking
System (EWATS) with fragnets to support construction need date. Also
involved in evaluating and correcting critical path of activities to
determine if work sequence had been correctly identified. Project Control Engineer - Tennessee Valley Authority
Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. Responsible
for planning design activities for the Mechanical Design Baseline
Verification Program (DBVP) and serving as coordinator between the site and
Knoxville office. Worked with Project Replacement Item Program (RIP)
to correct scheduling problems. Responsible for PC III Schedules,
EWAs, Training, CCTS, CAQRs, and Sequoyah Activity List. Complete
closure of CAQRs by writing memoranda and completing closure documentation
and attachments. Supervised six clerical employees. Project Control Specialist - Tennessee Valley Authority
Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. Provided
planning and scheduling support to the task engineer and section supervisor
in the development of an effective design schedule and coordinated these
efforts with various groups. Responsible for many emergency tasks that
had to be completed under difficult working conditions, long hours, with no
off days during heatup mode and final startup of Unit 2. Project Control Technician - Tennessee Valley Authority
Mechanical Engineering Branch.
Responsibilities included developing, updating, and scheduling work for
section supervisor in PC III and P2 reports. Received cost
estimate requests for the branch and submitted response by memoranda.
Supervised clerical personnel in extraction and tabulation of data for
various reports. Responsible coordinator and liaison for branch
scheduling efforts involving the Bellefonte Nuclear Plant design project. Stores Record Clerk - Tennessee Valley Authority
Power Construction. Received, checked,
tagged, inventoried, and stored shipped material used by construction
